Evelyn Dueñas

Evelyn Dueñas currently focuses on family-based immigration and removal defense, criminal defense, and social security disability.

 

Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Dueñas owned her own business whereas a non-attorney, she was an Accredited Disability Representative through the National Association of Disability Representatives. She assisted in disabled individuals obtaining Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits. In addition, she was part of the Eligible for Direct Payment Non-Attorney (EDPNA) program as of 2016 through the services of CPS HR Consulting. Ms. Dueñas’ passion for helping individuals is what formed the foundation for the rest of her career and what led her to law school.

 

Ms. Dueñas received her law degree from Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where she obtained the highest pro bono distinction. While in law school, she served as a student attorney in the Immigration Law Clinic where she assisted minors who were declared dependent on the state due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment, to obtain legal status.

 

Ms. Dueñas met Karina Ordoñez through the Immigration Law Clinic and first joined the Firm as a law clerk.

 

Ms. Dueñas is bilingual in English and Spanish. Additionally, she enjoys giving back to the community, for example, aside from completing over the required hours while participating at the ASU Immigration Clinic, she has volunteered at the Arizona Legal Center, and participated in charity races. In addition, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three dogs.
